Suspenders
Throughout the years the word suspenders has brought to mind many different thoughts, this name can be used to describe the article of clothing worn by ladies to hold up their silk stockings or hold up men's pants. Depending where you are in the world it can mean either, but by virtue of the name a suspender is an item of clothing that is used to hold something up. When referring to suspenders in the UK they are called braces if they are to be used by men to hold pants up. Conversely in the US we refer to a garter belt when talking about ladies stockings. The standards suspenders for pants are usually made of cloth or leather and form an X or Y at the back and then go across the shoulders where they are attached to the front of the pants. Depending on the manufacture the bracers might attach to the pants by a clip or by buttons that are specifically sewn onto the inside of the pants for this purpose. Over the last 3 or four centuries there have been many different types of suspenders worn by man but the modern interpretation was invented by Albert Thurston in 1822 and at one time almost every man wore them
. By the end of the 19th century the suspender become a necessity for men due to the high cut of pants being worn. This fashionable high waist made wearing a belt impractical and impossible for the average man. In the early days, suspenders were considered a part of a man's underwear and were not to be seen in public. Most men wore a waistcoat or jacket to cover their bracers to hide them from view unless it was too hot and then a light sweater would be worn. After their demise in the First World War they never regained their popularity over the belt, but those who wore them no longer considered it improper to wear them where they could be seen. While suspenders may have never regained the popularity they once enjoyed over the belt, they are still a mainstay with the older generation and many a grandfather still insists on wearing a pair. More interesting yet is the impact of braces on the fashion world, in the 1980s they became a very hot item in ladies fashions.
Unlike the suspender for men, those being used to make a fashion statement for the ladies came in a huge variety of colors and styles. Today you can find suspenders in a variety of styles and colors designed to fit men, women and even children. They can be used for the practical purpose of holding up one's pants or as a fashion statement with a skirt. What was once considered a major Faux Pas to be seen has now become a mainstream fashion item and can be seen on fashion runways across the world. If you are looking for a pair of suspenders to make your fashion statement or just to hold up your pants, Suspend Ease has over 30,000 pairs in stock to choose from. They carry men's, ladies and children's in every color imaginable to help you find the exact pair you need.

We are located in Wisconsin so it takes about 2 to 5 working days to either coast or to the far South when using FED EX or 2 to 3 days for U.S. Mail Priority Service. Fed Ex is used with the heavier shipments.
First Class Mail is now taking 7 to 20 days for delivery. The slowness may be because of cutbacks in in the Post Office in the attempt to solve their money problems. We suggest using the $4.95 Priority Mail Service which covers as many items as you want to include in the order.
We still have had NO mail lost in over 2 years possibly because we use 9"x12" Manilla Envelopes which match the Priority Package Size which are hard to misplace or overlook.
